Our values drive us to be successful for our customers, but we are driven by another mission as well: to care for our community.

It is common to see Surgere team members putting an emphasis on community initiatives. Our passion to help the community comes from the top. Donating time, money, or other resources to our community has always been important to our CEO and Founder, William Wappler.

Food for Full Families | Akron Canton Regional Food Bank

At various times throughout the year, especially during Thanksgiving, we participate in canned food drives to provide meals for families in our community affected by food insecurity. Our Surgere team collected over 400 pounds of food in just 100 hours in November 2020. This provided 343 meals for our neighbors in need through the Akron-Canton food bank.

Granting Christmas Wishes | Marine Toys for Tots Foundation

Yearly, we put up Toys for Tots collection bins around the office. Surgere team members bring in toys for local kids who might not receive many otherwise. In December 2020, we collected 231 toys including creative art supplies and sports equipment! It’s our honor to bring joy to a child on Christmas.

5K for the 160th | Night Stalker Association

Team members from both our U.S headquarters and Mexico location set out to run/walk 5 kilometers, or 3,107 miles, to support the Night Stalkers – a special operations force of the United States Army that provides helicopter aviation support for general purpose and special operations forces.

The virtual event was hosted by the Night Stalker Association as a fundraising event for the group. These brave men and women give their all for our freedom. Together, we went to the streets and local trails to raise money for this U.S. Army 160th Flight Regiment and their families.

Supporting Heroes and Their Families | Serving Area Military and Veterans (SAM)

We set out on a mission to provide toys, clothes, and financial support to 10 veteran families during the holiday season. Each gift was personally requested by the families so that kids (and parents) could get something they truly wanted. SAM collects the donations and displays them at their facilities for families to come “shop” for what they want. Through a little bit of Christmas magic, their requested items appear on the tables during their shopping hour for them to select and take home.

Gift Cards for a Good Cause | 82nd Airborne Division Association, Ben Vandervoort Chapter

It’s important to support the spouses and families of those that serve our country. Donations of simple pleasures like gift cards for date night are a small, yet important, token of esteem for Airborne Rangers. The 82nd Airborne Division Association supports over 35,000 active duty and veteran paratroopers. The association honors Lt Col Ben Vandervoort, who led the American airborne
landings in Normandy and Operation Market Garden.

Surgere Serves, in Mexico!

Our Mexico team participates in their own set of service initiatives. Providing local support is a core value to our employees in every country.

Bifam

With the help of every member of the Surgere Mexico team, we gave 16 children their favorite toy and a pair of warm pajamas. We went a few days before Christmas to make the delivery and the smiles were uncontrollable. We feel very happy and fulfilled to make so many children happy.

Hogar del Abuelo Maty

This time it was our turn to support the grandparents of Hogar del Abuelo Maty. We delivered blankets, clothes, diapers, personal hygiene and cleaning supplies.

Standing Up to Childhood Cancer | Canicia

The Surgere Mexico team collected recyclable plastic caps and sold bracelets to support children with cancer. The money raised from the bracelet sales and recycled caps went directly to psychological treatments for the children with cancer.

Taking Action for a Greener Environment | Ecovit

Since sustainability is an important pillar of Surgere’s mission, the Mexico team is currently supporting Ecovit. This organization helps the environment by collecting garbage, recycling batteries, planting trees, and assisting in reforestation.

Creating Christmas Magic | Casa Hogar Creacion y Vida

Instead of having a Christmas party in 2020, the Surgere Mexico team supported a children’s home by donating toys and other gifts. In total, the team collected over $2,000 USD worth of gifts including computers, garden tools, candy, clothes, and special Christmas pajamas.
